Trust & Safety

The trade standards behind every listing.

FACETS operates a working trade network, not a public marketplace. Access to buyers and suppliers on the platform is conditional on meeting — and continuing to meet — the standards set out below.

01

Supplier verification

Every listed supplier holds an active NGJA licence, verified against the Authority's register at onboarding and re-verified annually. FACETS trade officers conduct in-person inspection of premises before any listing goes live.

02

Buyer verification

Buyers accessing the sourcing marketplace complete KYC review including business registration, trade references, and (for high-value requests) proof of funds. Buyer identity is disclosed to suppliers only after initial fit review.

03

Treatment disclosure

FACETS trade code requires full disclosure of heat treatment, diffusion, filling, or any other enhancement on every stone offered through the network. Non-disclosure is grounds for immediate suspension.

04

Certification standards

For stones offered above USD 20,000, FACETS requires a report from a recognised laboratory (NGJA, SSEF, Gübelin, GRS or AGL). Reports must accompany the stone at every point of transaction.

05

Dispute mediation

In the event of a dispute over identity, treatment, quality or delivery, FACETS provides mediation and, where required, coordinates independent laboratory re-examination at cost.

06

Export compliance

All shipments are routed through NGJA-inspected export channels with full documentation. FACETS does not facilitate hand-carry or informal export.

Reporting a concern

Any buyer or supplier can raise a concern with the FACETS trade office directly. Concerns are reviewed within 5 business days.

Independent oversight

FACETS maintains a working relationship with the NGJA and SLGJA. Serious breaches of trade practice are referred to the appropriate authority.
